AI Health Companion ("the app," "we," "our") is an independently developed application that turns short, everyday notes into brief, personal reflections. This page explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices available to you. It applies to the AI Health Companion mobile app and its supporting backend services.
Information we collect
We collect only what's needed to run the app and generate your reflections:
- Account information: your email address and name, whether you sign in with Google or create an account directly with an email and password.
- Notes and mood entries: the free-text notes and mood selections you choose to log during the day.
- Reflections: the short summaries generated from your notes, stored so you can look back on past days.
- Optional profile details: birth year and gender, if you choose to add them, used only to make reflections more relevant to you.
- Optional health data: steps, sleep, and heart rate, but only if you explicitly connect Health Connect (Android) - this is entirely opt-in and can be turned off at any time.
- Optional period tracking: dates you choose to log, shown only if you've selected female gender and opted into this feature.
- Basic technical data: standard information needed to keep the app and its ad delivery functioning, such as a non-personalized advertising identifier used to serve ads (see "Advertising" below).
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or any data beyond what's described above.
How we use your information
- To generate your daily reflections from the notes you've entered that day.
- To occasionally surface a short doctor's-note style heads-up alongside a reflection, when your own notes mention something physical - this is generated from your own words, not a diagnosis.
- To personalize reflections using any optional profile or health information you've chosen to share.
- To send account-related emails, such as password reset codes.
- To maintain and improve the app's reliability and core functionality.
Where your data is stored
Notes, reflections, and account data are stored on infrastructure operated directly by the app's developer, not a large third-party data platform. Reasonable technical measures are used to protect this data, but as with any online service, no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Third-party services we use
- Google Sign-In - if you choose to sign in with Google, Google handles authentication on our behalf; we receive only your basic profile (name, email) to create your account.
- Google AdMob - used to show a rewarded ad if you choose to unlock additional reflections in a day. Ads are configured to be non-personalized: your notes, mood, health data, or reflections are never shared with the ad system, and no health-related information is ever used to select or target an ad.
- Resend - used solely to deliver transactional emails, such as password reset codes.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, notes, reflections, or health data to anyone, for any purpose. We do not share this data with advertisers or data brokers.
Your choices and rights
- Health data syncing, mood logging, and period tracking are all optional and can be turned on or off at any time from within the app.
- You can request a copy of your data, or request that your account and associated data be deleted, by contacting us at the email below.
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the app's features, unless you request earlier deletion.
Children's privacy
AI Health Companion is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by applicable law in their country. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
